SRS — Safety Requirements Specification

A formal specification defining the safety functions and performance requirements necessary to achieve functional safety objectives.

Definition

A Safety Requirements Specification (SRS) is a controlled engineering document that defines the functional, performance and integrity requirements for safety-related systems, including Safety Instrumented Functions (SIFs). The SRS establishes the technical basis for the design, implementation, verification, operation and maintenance of Safety Instrumented Systems throughout their lifecycle.

In Practice
