IEC — International Electrotechnical Commission

The international organization responsible for developing consensus standards for electrical, electronic and automation technologies.

Definition

The International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) is an international standards organization that develops and publishes consensus standards covering electrical engineering, electronics, industrial automation, functional safety and related technologies.
