A controlled quality record documenting the inspection and testing activities performed on equipment, systems or construction work.
An Inspection and Test Record (ITR) is a formal quality document that records the inspections, tests, measurements, witness points, acceptance criteria and approvals associated with a specific item of equipment, construction activity or commissioning task. ITRs provide objective evidence that work has been completed in accordance with project specifications, procedures and quality requirements.
Inspection and Test Records provide traceable evidence that inspection and testing activities have been completed and accepted before equipment is released for service or handover.
ITRs are widely used during fabrication, construction and commissioning to document quality compliance and support mechanical completion, system turnover and regulatory acceptance.
An Inspection and Test Record documents completed verification activities, whereas an Inspection Plan defines what inspections and tests are required before work begins.
