Work Pack

A structured collection of work instructions, drawings, procedures and supporting information required to execute a defined scope of work.

Definition

A Work Pack is a structured collection of work instructions, engineering drawings, procedures, permits, inspection requirements, material information and other supporting documentation assembled to enable the safe and efficient execution of a defined scope of work. Work Packs ensure that personnel have all necessary information before work begins.

Why It Matters

Work Packs provide the information and documentation required to safely execute a defined scope of work.

In Practice

Work Packs commonly include Work Orders, engineering drawings, permits, procedures, material lists, safety documentation, inspection requirements and completion records relevant to the assigned work scope.

Common Misuse

A Work Pack provides the documentation required to execute work, whereas a Work Order authorizes and manages the execution of that work.
