The P&ID Index provides the authoritative register for managing Piping and Instrumentation Diagram documentation.

In Practice

The P&ID Index supports engineering change control, document retrieval, revision management and configuration management by maintaining a complete inventory of controlled P&ID documents.

Common Misuse

A P&ID Index manages the inventory of controlled P&ID documents, whereas individual P&IDs describe the engineering design of specific process systems.
