A Hydrostatic Pressure Test (Hydrotest) is a controlled pressure test performed by filling equipment such as pressure vessels, piping systems or tanks with an incompressible liquid, usually water, and pressurizing it to a specified test pressure. The test verifies structural integrity, confirms leak-tightness and demonstrates that the equipment can safely withstand its design pressure before being placed into service or returned to operation.
