Ground-Penetrating Radar (GPR) is a geophysical investigation method that transmits high-frequency electromagnetic waves into the ground and analyzes reflected signals to identify buried objects, utilities, structures, voids, changes in material properties and subsurface interfaces. GPR provides rapid, nondestructive assessment without excavation.
GPR enables engineers to identify buried infrastructure and subsurface conditions while minimizing excavation costs, project delays and safety risks.
GPR surveys are widely used before excavation, during brownfield redevelopment, for buried utility mapping and to support digital asset verification projects.
GPR identifies subsurface features using electromagnetic reflections and should not be confused with ultrasonic or radiographic inspection methods used for material examination.
