The process of comparing engineering drawings with the Master Equipment List to identify and resolve discrepancies.
Drawing-to-Master Equipment List Reconciliation (MEL RECON) is the systematic validation of equipment information between engineering drawings and the Master Equipment List (MEL) to ensure that all tagged assets are correctly identified, consistently referenced and accurately represented across project documentation.
This process improves asset data quality by identifying missing, duplicate, incorrectly tagged or inconsistent equipment records before handover or operational use.
Typical reconciliation activities include validating equipment tags, descriptions, hierarchy, drawing references and asset attributes against the approved Master Equipment List.
