DHR — Data Handover Register

A structured register used to define, track and verify all information deliverables required for project handover.

Definition

A Data Handover Register (DHR) is a controlled document or database that identifies all engineering documents, asset data, drawings, models, vendor information and digital deliverables required to be transferred from a project or contractor to the owner or operator. The register is used to monitor submission status, quality, completeness and acceptance throughout the project lifecycle.

Why It Matters

A Data Handover Register provides visibility of project information deliverables, improves handover quality and ensures that operational systems receive complete and verified asset information.

In Practice

The DHR typically records document identifiers, revision status, responsible organizations, planned delivery dates, quality status and acceptance history, providing a complete audit trail for information handover.

Common Misuse

A Data Handover Register manages the list of required deliverables, whereas Digital Handover describes the overall process of transferring verified information into operational systems.
