Closure Verification

A VisualAIM platform business process used to confirm that corrective actions have been completed before formal closure of an engineering record.

Definition

Within the VisualAIM platform, Closure Verification is the formal process of confirming that all required corrective actions, supporting evidence and engineering approvals have been completed before a Non-Conformance Record or Recommendation is formally closed. Closure Verification provides assurance that the engineering intent of the remediation has been fully achieved.

Why It Matters

Closure Verification confirms that engineering issues have been satisfactorily resolved before formal record closure.

In Practice

Closure Verification may include document review, engineering approval, inspection, testing or other verification activities depending on the type of remediation and organizational requirements.

Common Misuse

Closure Verification confirms that sufficient evidence exists to support formal closure, whereas NCR Closure and Recommendation Closure represent the completion of the corresponding business objects.
