The American Society for Nondestructive Testing (ASNT) is an international professional organization dedicated to advancing nondestructive testing (NDT). ASNT develops personnel qualification and certification programs, publishes technical guidance and recommended practices, and promotes education, research and professional development for NDT practitioners across multiple industries.
ASNT certification programs and recommended practices help ensure the competence of NDT personnel and improve the quality and consistency of inspection activities.
ASNT Recommended Practice SNT-TC-1A and ANSI/ASNT CP-189 are widely used to establish qualification and certification requirements for NDT personnel in industrial facilities.
ASNT develops certification guidance and qualification programs but does not publish equipment design codes such as API or ASME.
