The OPC Classic specification for accessing archived process and historian data.
OPC Historical Data Access (OPC HDA) is the OPC Classic specification that standardizes access to historical process data stored in industrial historians and archive systems. It enables software applications to retrieve recorded values, summaries and time-series information using a consistent vendor-independent interface.
OPC Historical Data Access standardizes the retrieval of archived industrial process and historian data.
OPC HDA provides standardized access to historical process information but has largely been superseded by OPC Unified Architecture, which incorporates historical data capabilities within a unified architecture.
OPC Historical Data Access retrieves archived process data, whereas OPC Data Access provides access to live real-time process values.
