The organization responsible for publishing the National Board Inspection Code and promoting the safe inspection of pressure-retaining equipment.
The National Board of Boiler and Pressure Vessel Inspectors (NBBI) is an international organization that promotes the safe construction, installation, inspection, repair and operation of boilers, pressure vessels and other pressure-retaining equipment. It publishes the National Board Inspection Code (NBIC) and supports inspector qualification, training and regulatory consistency.
The NBBI develops standards and programs that promote the safe inspection and integrity of pressure-retaining equipment.
The NBBI works with regulatory authorities, inspection agencies, equipment owners and industry organizations to improve pressure equipment safety through standards development, education and certification programs.
The NBBI is the organization responsible for developing and publishing the NBIC, whereas the NBIC is the code governing the inspection, repair and alteration of pressure-retaining equipment.
