API 936 is an American Petroleum Institute standard that establishes the minimum requirements for refractory personnel qualification, installation quality control, inspection and testing of refractory linings used in high-temperature process equipment. It defines qualification requirements for inspectors, installation practices, material verification, testing methods and documentation to ensure refractory systems perform as intended throughout their service life.
API 936 helps ensure the quality, reliability and long-term performance of refractory systems used in furnaces, reactors, heaters and other high-temperature equipment.
