An OPC Companion Specification is an industry-defined extension of the OPC Unified Architecture (OPC UA) Information Model that standardizes the representation of specific equipment, systems or application domains. Companion Specifications enable software from different vendors to exchange engineering and operational information using a common semantic model without requiring custom integration.
OPC Companion Specifications provide standardized semantic models for specific industries, equipment types and automation applications.
Companion Specifications are developed collaboratively by industry organizations and the OPC Foundation for domains such as process automation, robotics, machine tools, building automation and asset management.
