01The Challenge

An NDT services provider had built its integrity practice on a home-grown system inherited from its largest client. The system had no structural discipline, no room to grow, and no way to keep one customer's data separate from another's — a hard ceiling for a firm whose business model depends on adding clients.

No structural foundation

A home-grown database with no schema discipline, unable to support long-term asset management.

40+ offshore platforms

Integrity data for a fleet of offshore assets needed a reliable, auditable home.

Multi-client segregation

Each customer's data had to stay cleanly partitioned while living in a single environment.

Room to scale

The platform had to absorb new clients as the vendor's book of business grew.

02Why VisualAIM

The customer evaluated several vendors. They became aware of VisualAIM when one of their representatives recognized our legacy TMS platform; after learning that VisualAIM had acquired TMS, they opened discussions and ultimately selected us.

1

Responsiveness

We answered faster than every other vendor in the evaluation, from the first interaction onward.

2

Support alignment

US-based coverage matched to US offshore operations, rather than support running on another continent's clock.

3

Clearer interface

A more intuitive platform that would speed adoption and cut training time for both field teams and office personnel.

4

Multi-client architecture

Structured, client-specific environments under one roof — purpose-built for a services firm with a growing portfolio.

03Rapid Execution

This was a direct migration from an existing database, with no data collection from manufacturer records required, so the work ran entirely on US-based resources. The full migration — including customer review and validation — finished in four weeks.

Ongoing digital transformation. We are now enabling inspection forms that execute through the tablet-based Inspection Workflow application, moving offshore field teams onto a paperless process.

Four weeks, end to end: migration, customer review, and validation complete.

04Immediate Value Discovery

Within days of migration, the structured data exposed major discrepancies between the planned inspection scope and the true state of the records. With accurate history in one place, the vendor could hand their client a corrected and defensible inspection plan.

Risk mitigated: scope discrepancies surfaced before they became missed inspections, regulatory findings, or emergency repairs.

05Current State

Migration

Data fully migrated and validated across the platform fleet.

Active work

Preparing the 2026 inspection scope against clean records.

Platform

Tablet-based inspection workflows rolling out to field teams.

Client confidence

Trust materially improved on the back of defensible records.
