01The Challenge

An enterprise operator was absorbing recurring financial and production losses from inadequate fixed equipment management — and had no reliable way to see the real state of its integrity programs across 26 US facilities. Each site ran its own metrics, naming conventions, and inspection protocols, so a failure at one plant taught the others nothing.

No enterprise visibility

Twenty-six facilities, twenty-six versions of the truth, and no way to compare them.

Root causes invisible

Failures could not be traced or systematically mitigated across the fleet.

Compliance exposure

Missed inspections carried real risk of safety incidents and regulatory penalties.

No common language

Divergent metrics and naming made enterprise-level reporting effectively impossible.

02Why VisualAIM

1

Proven inside the group

VisualAIM was already supporting a sister company, giving the customer a working reference and a clear path to broader adoption.

2

Platform depth

After evaluating the alternatives, the customer selected VisualAIM for clarity, usability, and depth of functionality.

3

Partnership, not licensing

References consistently pointed to stronger service and ongoing commitment than competing vendors offered.

4

Integrated data environment

Centralizing and operationalizing asset information made the platform a foundation for daily decisions, not just a records archive.

03Project Execution

The deployment ran in three sequenced phases under a blended delivery model — offshore resources handling data collection, US-based resources providing quality control and oversight.

1

Data collection infrastructure

Our engineering team built a dedicated data collection application that guided field teams and automatically populated import templates for the Mechanical Integrity Suite.

Output: capture pipeline for 9,500 assets
2

Document digitization

Physical records were scanned and organized into equipment-tag folders, turning paper history into structured, searchable asset data.

Output: tag-indexed document set
3

Scope recovery

When a third-party provider's engagement ended mid-project, VisualAIM absorbed the remaining scope and carried the deployment to completion without a restart.

Output: uninterrupted delivery

Continuity under pressure: rather than risk a stalled rollout, the customer reassigned all remaining data collection to VisualAIM mid-flight.

04Outcomes

Unified enterprise view

All 26 facilities visible through common metrics, naming conventions, and inspection protocols.

Instant asset lookup

Any asset across the enterprise, with full inspection history and compliance status attached.

Defensible records

Consistent, auditable documentation that stands up to regulatory and industry scrutiny.

Cross-site learning

Patterns identified at one facility now inform prevention at the other twenty-five.
